Universitas Indonesia: A Green Complex
Universitas Indonesia (UI) is situated in south of Jakarta, in Depok regency, alongside Jakarta-Bogor commuter railway. It is also situated in the one of the largest botanical estates in Indonesia.
Aside for being an education institution, other attractions of UI are its forests (not the rain forest definitely), lake (or perhaps big big pond), architectures, sport complex, and jogging/bicycle tracks. Few years ago, when I was a student there, the complex was not as good as today and the facilities were just…lame. In my opinion, if one would like to see something “green” and not willing to spend extra travel time to Bogor, he or she could go to Ragunan Zoo or UI Complex in Depok, either by train or cars – as long as on weekend. The tickets are pretty cheap (IDR 2,000 – 40 cents US), not so hot, it has good view as well. Oh, during weekdays, you can get extra view of young campus girls as well
.
Every saturday and sunday morning (and afternoon as well), the campus is usually crowded with people from surrounding area, either for recreational, sports, or dating. Sunday morning, they usually bring their families, having breakfast or brunch in the forest or bring their families to do some sports, like bicycling, badminton, football, etc. People there were friendly and it was quite safe there (but please do not leave your cars or motorcycles with keys attached). Indeed, some kids and teenagers were eagerly asked me to take their pictures

Hey, nice view from University Indonesia, although I think you missed the fact that it is less greener than the usual (early 2000 something).
Anyway, cute pictures
yeah, you’re right. it is less greener than it used to be because they’re trying to make the surrounding “brighter” – remember the robbery cases at that time
thanks for the compliment
